Build Quality
There is a reason the Jazz has won so many build quality accolades, both locally as well as internationally. This vehicle is the benchmark for unrivalled reliability and exceptional durability.LX i-VTEC Petrol Engine
Honda has set out to provide the new Jazz with a best in class balance between fuel economy and fun-to-drive performance. In place of the two-valve i-DSI technology used in the previous Jazz, the latest range is powered by newly-developed 16-valve i-VTEC petrol engines that deliver lively performance and plentiful torque across all engine speeds. The new LX engine shares the same 1339cc swept volume as the previous i-DSI engine but output is up from 61 to 73 kW, again at a slightly higher 6000 rpm. Torque is boosted to 128 Nm at 4800 rpm. Combined cycle fuel consumption is a highly competitive 5.8 l/100 km for the manual transmission model, and an impressive 6.6 l/100km when equipped with the automated 5-speed transmission.1.5 i-VTEC Engine (EX / EX-S)
The 16-valve 1.5 litre i-VTEC unit shares the same block as the LX engine thereby maintaining its compact dimensions. The 1.5 retains much of the fuel economy characteristics of the LX engine, but adds even sportier performance with 88kW of power on tap. Peak torque has been increased to 145 Nm at 4800 rpm. Combined fuel consumption achieves a frugal 6.4 l/100km on the 5-speed manual transmission and 6.7l/100km for the 5-speed automatic transmission.AT Transmission
The new Jazz features a newly designed 5-speed automatic transmission with gear ratios optimised for driveability whilst ensuring good fuel economy.Drive-by-Wire (DBW)
Previously only available on the Civic and models above, now DBW is standard equipment on all Jazz models. Electronic drive-by-wire (DBW) throttle control optimises the throttle aperture when the accelerator is depressed for quick and precise delivery of fuel to the engine, so maximising efficiency.
