Overview
Honda’s astounding CBR600RR launches a blistering assault on the road and track, with a sleek new aerodynamically race-ready form. The pursuit of overall weight reduction was certainly the fundamental key to the new CBR600RR’s design, and the results reveal themselves in the most compact inline-four engine to ever power a middleweight Supersport riding machine. Stamped with the genetic imprint of its RCV211V racing lineage, the new CBR600RR is positioned to let every rider feel, in no uncertain terms, that they too can be "The Fastest on the Track... and the Fastest Everywhere."
Lightest and smallest 600cc engine in class
The latest CBR600RR’s engine features dimensions that are by far the smallest in its 600cc class. Modifications, repositioning and redesign have reduced the size and weight, achieving sharper and more responsive handling, as well as significant increases in its power-to-weight ratio. The Dual Sequential fuel-injected DOHC inline four cylinder engine delivers a thrilling rush of sharply responsive acceleration that wins races.
PGM-DSFI Dual Sequential Fuel Injection System
The PGM-DSFI system features two separate sets of injectors programmed to operate at low and high engine speeds to ensure optimal fuelling combustion efficiency and performance at all engine speeds and throttle openings.
Advanced Second-Generation HESD Steering Damper
The Honda Electronic Steering Damper is an electronically controlled hydraulic rotary damper, mounted on the steering head. Damping characteristics are automatically adjusted in response to motorcycle speed and acceleration, for high-speed comfort and low-speed manoeuvrability without the rider having to have expert track set-up knowledge to extract the best from his machine on the road or the track.
Unit Pro-Link Suspension
The Unit Pro-Link rear suspension system was developed on the MotoGP winning RC211V. This revolutionary system does not mount the shock directly to the main frame, thus greatly reducing the transmission of suspension impacts to the frame. The result is stable cornering and superb off-corner acceleration, with brilliant overall handling characteristics.
CBR600RRA
For 2009, Honda continues to lead the way in the world of high performance sports machinery by introducing the option of electronically-controlled "Combined ABS" on the CBR600RR for the first time. Proven to be a significant aid in emergency braking situations, the availability of Combined ABS on the 2009 CBR600RR once again demonstrates Honda’s commitment to the continuous improvement of motorcycle confidence, while offering maximum choice to its customers. Honda’s electronically-controlled "Combined ABS" is a huge step forward in motorcycle ABS, which has not been seen before on such a high performance sports motorcycle.
