Honda confirms Honda e name for its urban EV coming to Europe and Japan

30 May 2019

Honda has confirmed the name of its all-electric urban car will indeed be the Honda e.

Honda debuted the Honda e prototype at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, saying it was very close to a production model, and the company is keeping the name. The Honda e will be available for reservation this summer, and Honda is still allowing prospective consumers to register their interest online (UK website).

The Honda e is the company’s first all-electric vehicle for Europe. The model will also be introduced in Japan, but there are no plans to bring it to the US market.

Honda e will feature an all-new, EV-specific platform. Honda has yet to disclose exact specs of the production model, but the urban-focused Honda e is expected to have a range of more than 125 miles (201 km), with a 30-minute charge boosting its battery to 80% capacity.

While reservations should start in a few months, the Honda e isn’t expected to hit the market until early 2020.
