Honda Motorcycles Southern Africa is very pleased to announce its partnership with Track-Daze. The sponsorship will include Honda Motorcycles providing Track-Daze with a CBR1000RR which will be used for all Track-Daze activities.
Track-Daze was started in 2005 by Dave Esterhuizen and Arno Bareiss. The goal was to run an ideal professional and punctual track day format but to also introduce road riders to the experience of track riding with classroom sessions and track instruction.
The first event took place in April 2005, at Phakisa Freeway. Although only 27 riders were in attendance; they experienced an exhilarating and professional riding experience.
Dave and Arno persisted with their track day format and over time, interest in the Track-Daze events began to grow.
In 2006 the safety standards at Track-Daze was elevated to an international level with the rule changing to allow one or two piece leathers on the track. To date, Track-Daze is still the only track day operator in South Africa with this rule.
Track-Daze events are open to all riders whether beginner or advanced and whist the overall experience needs to be relaxed and fun, safety on the track for all riders is of the utmost importance. Transponders are an essential safety tool which are used to record lap times and ensure that riders are grouped together correctly; thus enhancing overall track safety.
