Polokwane’s Johann Bezuidenhout takes national title and gears up for Dubai regional finals.

Honda South Africa (HSAF) is proud to announce the winner of its 2025 local Technician Skills Contest, an initiative hosted in partnership with Honda Africa and Middle East Region (HAMER).

Held at the HSAF training centre, the contest brought together skilled service technicians from Honda’s auto dealer network across the country. The competition tested participants on both technical knowledge and practical ability, showcasing the precision, professionalism, and problem-solving expertise that define Honda’s aftersales service.

After a series of rigorous rounds, Johann Bezuidenhout from Honda Polokwane emerged as the national champion. Johann will now represent South Africa and HSAF at the 2025 Honda Africa & Middle East Technician Skills Contest, taking place on 22 October 2025 at the Honda Training Centre in Dubai, UAE.

This prestigious regional contest, themed “Accelerating Skills for Tomorrow’s Mobility,” will bring together the top technicians from across the HAMER region to compete for the coveted title of regional champion. The competition not only celebrates technical excellence but also reinforces Honda’s commitment to first-time fix repairs, customer satisfaction, and continuous learning within its service network.

Winners of the regional contest will earn the opportunity to participate in the Global Technician Skills Contest in 2027, marking a pathway from local to global recognition for outstanding technical talent.

Through initiatives like the Technician Skills Contest, Honda continues to invest in developing its people, ensuring customers receive world-class service and support across every Honda dealership.
